Truth-telling Part 1: Shrinky-Dink Living

I’d turn on the oven light and watch the magic of shrinking happen right before my eyes. I never thought the compressed version looked as good as my original, with its curled up edges, but it didn’t matter. It was oddly cool-looking. Glossy. Hardened. And at least ten times smaller than the original design. That’s what’s been happening to my thoughts in my head these days. It’s not that the goals I’ve set are too big or too much. It’s that I see myself as too small, too “not enough,” too shrinky-dinky.
